Sports Coin Available for Use Starting March 1 Collect and Use Your Sports Coins!
To encourage the public to develop exercise habits and spend money on watching sporting events, the Ministry of Sports (MOS) launched the Sports Coin policy. A public draw was successfully completed on February 12, 2026, and starting March 1, selected citizens have been able to claim NT$500 in Sports Coin through the website (https://500.gov.tw/). The coins can be used as payment at approved partner stores. Through this policy, the government hopes to lower the barriers to sports-related spending and promote the development of the sports industry.
The Lunar New Year is a joyful time for family reunions and relaxation, as well as an important moment to adjust one’s lifestyle and welcome the new year. The MOS invited the public to welcome the new year by making good use of their Sports Coin—going out, enjoying spring outings, and starting the year with good fortune and a healthier lifestyle.
The 2026 Sports Coin is valid until December 31. There is no limit on the number of times or the total amount used. It can be redeemed at partner businesses across three major categories in the sports industry: Doing Sports, Sports Spectating, and Buy Equipment. Under the Buy Equipment category, up to NT$200 can be used to purchase sports shoes, apparel, sports gear, and other consumable equipment. Under the Doing Sports and Sports Spectating categories, up to NT$500 can be applied toward a variety of activities, including sports classes, access to sports facilities, and admission to sporting events. This flexible arrangement enables people of different age groups and lifestyles to choose sports and physical activities that best suit their needs, helping them integrate exercise into their daily lives and develop regular exercise habits.
The MOS stated that Sports Coin is not only a subsidy but also an important policy to guide citizens toward healthier lifestyles and increase sports participation. By integrating sports facilities, sporting events, and related industry resources nationwide, the program aims to create a sports consumption environment that allows exercise to become part of everyday life. The MOS also reminds lottery winners to pay attention to the validity period and to use their Sports Coins early to participate in a variety of sports activities.
